An expert, independent commission in Norway has tested different types of special needs bicycles in connection with a multi-year public procurement. Several aspects were important for this tender. These were rated with a specific weighting coefficient. In the tricycle category, Van Raam was rated best in terms of overall quality.

The tricycles were evaluated on: Price, quality of the frame and the parts, quality and reliability of the motor and charger, the ability to customise the bike to suit individual needs, the bike's accessories, ease of use, reliability and overall impression. Of course the design of the bicycles was also an important factor.

In the tricycles and sitting tricycle categories, the Mini, Midi, Maxi and Easy Rider sitting tricycles easily came out on top. Also included in the test of tricycles with saddles were the City by Huka, Sunny by Nijland and the 3-18 by Medema. However, in the end, the Van Raam Mini, Midi and Maxi were rated best by the independent, Norwegian commission.

Best electric engine

What stood out with the electric pedal assistance, were its power, individual customisation options, user-friendly app, the ability to reverse, its completely silent operation and simple controls. Van Raam's Silent electric motors were more than sufficiently distinctive and powerful to finish at the top of the list.

The Van Raam products also easily came out on top in other categories. The Fun2Go side-by-side tandem, the Easy Rider sitting tricycle, the Twinny and Kivo three-wheel tandems and the Mini, Midi, Maxi tricycles were all rated as best in their respective categories.
