An expert, independent commission in Norway has tested different types of special needs bicycles in connection with a multi-year public procurement. Several aspects were important for this tender. These were rated with a specific weighting coefficient. One of the categories focused on side-by-side tandems, also known as side-by-side three-wheel tandems.
The side-by-side tandems were evaluated on: Price, quality of the frame and the parts, quality and reliability of the motor and charger, the ability to customise the bike to suit individual needs, the bike's accessories, ease of use, reliability and overall impression. Of course the design of the bicycles was also an important factor.
In addition to the Fun2Go by Van Raam, several other bikes were tested in the side-by-side tandem category, including the Cratos by Huka and the Slider by Draisin.
In terms of overall quality, the Fun2Go by Van Raam did much better than the other bikes in the test.
For example, the Fun2Go side-by-side tandem scored 43% higher than the Orthros by Huka. Despite cheaper tenders offered by other suppliers, the Fun2Go also had the highest total score (quality and price) by far. This once again shows that quality and experience win it in the end.

What stood out with the electric pedal assistance, were its power, individual customisation options, user-friendly app, the ability to reverse, its completely silent operation and simple controls. Van Raam's Silent electric motors were more than sufficiently distinctive and powerful to finish at the top of the list. Although other suppliers' motor systems could not handle a hill, Van Raam's electrical Fun2Go side-by-side tandem did it easily.
Van Raam's products also had the highest test results in other categories. In addition to the Fun2Go side-by-side tandem, the Easy Rider sitting tricycle, the Twinny and Kivo three-wheel tandems and the Mini, Midi, Maxi tricycles were all rated best in their respective categories.
